Last Day of Teaching Language Arts Class
Yesterday was the last day of Teaching Language Arts class as stated in the title of this blog. This class has been an emotional roller coaster. With the Pandemic happening and the death of George Floyd and all that happened and is continuing to happen in the wake of his death, the class itself because of the books that we talk about and how we go about teaching our present and future students, that in itself was emotional. Everything then put together as one, made it that much more emotional. There's so much going on in the world and it all is incorporated into education whether some want it to be or not. I appreciated that we talked about these things in class a couple times and it wasn't a negative experience. It was awesome to be in a class of wonderful people who were so opened minded to hear and learn more. I pray that they continue to be open and learn more in the future to be a better educator to their students and a better over all person for themselves and their loved ones. I hope to see some of them future classes.
In class yesterday we had presentations, all of which were great but these are just somethings that really stood out to me during those presentations that I would love to adapt for a future lesson because they all sounded really intriguing and engaging assignments.
Kayla - Use pizza to show the steps in writing
Rylee: describing characters using Cloudy with a chance of meatballs and doing cause and effect with the book A Bad Case of Stripes, teaching sequence with the beginning, middle, and end with The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
I also think that everyone had some great books for their book lists as well.
Lastly, I want to thank my instructor Terri Steffes for an amazing class that we could all cry and learn together in.
See you all in the next blog or if you are on my YouTube, see you all on the next video.
